Manki True Artisan Cafe sits quietly on the second floor of an aging apartment building on Ly Tu Trong, offering a retreat from the busy street below. The cafe’s somewhat tucked-away location means it often draws those in the know—coffee lovers who appreciate the craft more than convenience. You might find yourself climbing the narrow stairs, hunting for the discreet signage before stepping into a space where the hum of the roaster and the clink of espresso machines set the tone.

The atmosphere inside is cozy and low-key, with a warm, lived-in vibe that invites lingering. It’s the kind of place where locals come to sketch, read, or work quietly, helped along by surprisingly strong Wi-Fi. Large windows overlook the bustling street, offering a steady stream of urban life without the noise pressure of street level.

For those drawn to coffee craft, Manki offers a hands-on experience. You can watch beans being roasted on site, which adds an approachable transparency to the coffee-making process. The barista, who is also the owner, often chats with visitors, guiding them through selections like the Ice Hand Drip, Cold Drip Coffee, or an Iced Vanilla Nitro Matcha Latte. The menu leans heavily into quality craft, with offerings such as Ethiopia Yirgacheffe that bring out distinct fruity notes. This focus makes it ideal for anyone seeking genuine tasting experiences rather than casual caffeine fixes.

While some might find the upstairs location a little tricky to spot at first, it contributes to Manki’s quiet and intimate feel. The price point is a step above typical street coffee stalls, reflecting the attention to detail in bean sourcing and preparation. Whether you’re after a strong espresso shot to kickstart your afternoon or a creamy flat white to slow down with, this cafe delivers consistently thoughtful drinks.

Manki works well for people who appreciate craftsmanship and want a space to focus or relax without the usual distractions. Mid-mornings and early afternoons during weekdays are probably the best times to swing by when the cafe settles into a calm rhythm. It’s not a bustling social hub but rather a peaceful stopover for those who want to savor their coffee and the moment.

Freakin awesome place, the barista (owner?) was super cool, nice, and knowledgeable about what coffees to recommend, and the place was a nice hole in the wall too! Just kinda hard to find a bit since it was at the 2nd floor and the sign is easy to miss…

Love this cafe so much. The owner is really kind and friendly. I sat to sketch there for 2 hours and showed him my sketches. He was very happy and appreciate my sketch. The cafe was very cozy and heart-warming with good street views.

Manki offers a genuine tasting experience. I appreciated that they roast their own beans (you can see the machine in the shop). I had the Ethiopia Yirgacheffe (Washed) which was excellent. The mandarin and mango notes came through clearly, just as described on the card. A safe bet for good coffee.

The BEST coffee in Ho Chi Minh City. Yes, it's a bit pricier than your average coffee shop. However, quality beans, expert craftmanship, and attention to details make this cafe a one of a kind. Whether you are there for a nice cup of coffee, getting some digital work done (super fast internet), or just to get away to a peaceful, relaxing place, Manki provides the place to enjoy it. Sure there may be a better cafe than this place, but I know that this owner will do everything he can to raise the bar. The man is a true coffee artist!

I had been told by my fellow coffee aficionados to visit this charming cafe, and I must say, it did not disappoint! The cafe itself is hidden in an old apartment, which adds to its unique and cozy atmosphere. As a coffee newbie, I was thrilled to discover their specialty coffee selection. Manki Coffee offers a great variety of coffee beans from different regions. The staff was knowledgeable and passionate about coffee, advising me on the drinks I should try. They were so kind to offer me a sample of other drinks. Not only do they serve classic coffee options, but they also have a range of creative drinks that are sure to tickle your taste buds. This cafe is a must-visit if you are around District 1. The location is perfect as it's just a few minutes walk to other exciting spots in the city center. I'll definitely come back to try other drinks that Manki has to offer.

Excellent ice drip coffee. The cafe allows u to pick the coffee beans and the brewing method you want for your coffee. The coffee’s taste is aromatic and rich. Reasonable price for the coffee and pastries. The cheesecake is excellent and goes really well with the coffee. The cafe has great design and is honestly such a vibe. Friendly staff and boss. Offers many payment methods including Apple Pay. Overall great place to sit , relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the cafe. Only downside of the cafe is that is a bit hard to find as it is not on the ground floor but rather the second floor. You will need to enter through a dingy looking garage. Do take note that u will need to climb a flight of stairs to reach the cafe. There is however a sign on the outside of the garage but the sign is quite small.

Great cappuccino. It's the most expensive cappuccino so far in the city. Everything here is expensive. Hard to find. It's one floor up in a dodgy building. Follow the small signs. Of course 100% tourists. Service is nice. There are better places for sure.

Nice coffee shop with great setting. The balcony is enjoyable. Staff is pro. Only downside is the high price.
